We had a great time as we ate with Yakubu and his wife Aver last Thursday evening at Fort Collin's Inca Mexican restaurant. Matt and Amber Webb joined us (it was also their 5th anniversary, coincidentally) as we were able to discuss the four water filtration projects in Nigeria. In the photo you can see Yakubu, Aver, Matt, Amber and Barbara.

Yakubu spent much of 2008 in Nigeria working with advising business and development projects. He was given a post as an advisor to the government and returned to his duties in Nigeria, January 18, 2009.

Our Cup of Hope projects in Nigeria have stagnated or ended. Part of the problem stems from the businessmen themselves not promoting the filter and the benefits of continual use. Several of the men feel that there is not enough profit in the work to pursue deveioping the business further.

Yakubu would like to train some additional business leaders and has asked us to consider taking a team from Cup of Hope to Nigeria in the near future. We will keep you abreast of the activities of Yakubu and any plans for the future.
